THE PLATFORM FOR NEW BUILDS
A dual-core, 32-bit ESP32-S3 platform for the pack and wand, with built-in wireless and room for future features.
A strong starting point for a new kit or a build with future add-ons in mind.
THE ORIGINAL GPSTAR
The original single-core, 8-bit ATmega2560 platform. An established setup with an optional wireless upgrade.
Already happy with your original kit? A wireless add-on can extend your setup.
Match your pack and wand generation. GPStar II and original GPStar systems should not be mixed. Hot-swapping applies to compatible, GPStar-equipped packs and wands within the same generation.

Choose your pack and wand combination before your kit tier. The mounts, harnesses, and brackets are chosen to suit your hardware—Hasbro, Mack’s Factory, Spirit, or your own DIY / 3D-printed shell.

Upgrade the pack while keeping your Hasbro wand unmodified. The pack senses wand activity and responds with firing sounds.
A mostly bare-electronics starting point for modders who enjoy handling more of the installation themselves.
Builds on Base with a dedicated wand speaker, infrared sensor, and additional micro SD card.
A comprehensive visual package with inner cyclotron lighting, barrel effects, bargraph, and other lighting upgrades.

THE CLASSIC LOOK
A 2-LED barrel board and replica emitter tip give the wand a clean, open-barrel appearance. The electronics suite still supports polyphonic audio, RGB vent lighting, and vibration.
THE ANIMATED BARREL
A 50-LED full-barrel board creates an animated proton stream. Small and large blue replica tips give you different display options.

Inner cyclotron panels and lighting add visual depth to Hasbro packs. Included in higher tiers, or available as later upgrades.
GPStar II has native wireless control and updates. An optional wireless module brings control and status features to original GPStar setups.
Compatible third-party smoke systems can add another effect to a GPStar-equipped pack. Follow the setup instructions for your chosen system.
QUICK ANSWERS
Start with GPStar II Lite. It replaces the pack board and senses the existing wand’s activity. You can move to a full kit later using shared components.

The existing guide describes upgrading by replacing both the pack and wand boards with GPStar II boards. Keep both sides on the same generation.
